Dr. Wright completed subspecialty training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant, with a focus on primary immunodeficiency, at both Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and Stanford University. She completed an MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics through the University of Cincinnati, with a thesis on DiGeorge syndrome. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary, working in the areas of primary immunodeficiency and benign hematology. Research interests include the occurrence of autoimmune cytopenias in children with immunodeficiency, bone marrow transplant for combined immune deficiency, and the use of whole exome sequencing for the diagnosis of immunodeficiency.
Having noted significant variability in isolation practices for infants with severe combined immunodeficiency at different treatment centers, Dr Wright undertook this project with the intention to develop evidence-based guidelines for the isolation of children with SCID. This award was instrumental in allowing this project to go forward.
